Each year, the SDA offers by ballot 1,800 textbook vouchers to members or members’ children who are attending secondary or technical schools, universities and colleges.

Each year, the SDA offers $1,200 to 10 successful members who are undergraduate university students, and $600 to 6 successful members who are TAFE students. Each payment is received in two halves, one for each semester, and is to be used for educational costs.

SDA members in Sydney and the Illawarra area receive a 10% discount on more than 350 courses at WEA. WEA offers short courses of private interest to workers, rather than courses that are intended to qualify them for alternative employment.
